elementary school FAITH FORMATION
What is children’s Faith Formation?
In children’s faith formation it is our goal to provide the fundamentals of our faith in an engaging and supportive atmosphere. Our programs combine religious education, participation in weekly liturgies, faith families, and preparation for sacraments. Each component is equally important and will provide a joyful experience designed to immerse children into our Catholic community while developing their relationship with Jesus.
How does Faith Formation work?
Our faith formation sessions will meet approximately twice each month. The purpose of our sessions is to teach the children about God’s word, the Catholic Church and our responsibilities as Christians. During the student sessions, children meet with their catechist leaders to learn the practices of our faith, our beliefs and to explore how to make God an everyday part of life.
You must be a registered parishioner of Assumption Parish to enroll your child in a class. Classes begin September 22, 2024!
Sacrament Information: Assumption has a two-year preparation policy for receiving the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. If your child has had no formal training in Faith Formation within the past 2 years, they will be placed in a basic Formation class and enter into the sacrament preparation class the following year.
Children attending Assumption School and children in Faith Formation will be required to attend sacrament sessions. All PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND PARENTAL SESSIONS, PLEASE SEE BELOW. For those students receiving their First Communion in 2024-2025, a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate is REQUIRED WITH REGISTRATION FORM, unless your child was baptized at Assumption.
